6 Things to leave behind in 2016

Hello there!!

2017 is just around the corner, it’s time to get our new calendars, planners and list our new year resolutions. I for one am putting 2016 and its practices behind me, so who’s joining?!

Before writing down my resolutions, I thought of sharing with you what I’m leaving behind in 2016 to have a better new year, so here’s a list of 10 practices/things:

diets1

1. Fad diets

No more easy fixes, I am leaving the fad diet life and will focus on having a healthy body and mind. I’ve been continuously gaining and losing weight for the past year and I know for sure that a diet will just keep me stuck on an endless cycle. So, diet life goes out the window and a new lifestyle that supports the belief I have cultivated about myself and health will be adapted.

fear-of-new1

2. Fear of new things

Letting go of the fear, starting with this blog, I was so hesitant to sit down, start a blog and say what’s on my mind, even though I always wanted to but was too afraid of committing myself to a blog. Well that’s one fear out, I am taking risks I might even skydive, who knows!

3. Nude makeup

Nude makeup was so popular the past two years and I see it gradually giving way to something new. I can already see bright lipsticks and shimmery eyeliner take a preeminent position. That being said, it might be over for contour as well.

4. Shopping with a budget

I’ve been in shop till you drop mode since I started getting a salary, never had a budget and always relied on credit cards, sale is hard to resist but if you don’t want to find yourself in a financial freefall, put your card aside, never spend what you haven’t earned, so this year I will make a firm resolve to have a budget and spend more sensibly, I think. I hope.

toxic-relationship1

5. Toxic relationships

They suck the soul out of you. Toxic relationships are never repairable. I’m not talking about romantic relationships only, you can have a toxic relationship with a friend, a family member, your parents, your kids, your boss or coworkers. So, this year, I will leave behind relationships that subtract from me, I will not harbor resentment for anyone and I will reevaluate my circle.

Great article Zahra, I totally agree! 2017 will be a year invested in growth, peace and knowledge in every aspect possible. I too will be leaving behind toxic relationships that clearly don’t deserve my time and energy. When it comes to relatives or even parents? I’ll create an invisible wall only I can see, nothing negative comes through that wall to me. This year will be a step forward to the dreams that have always cultivated my mind, I’ll be dedicated to what I know for sure makes me a happy person, a healthy lifestyle will be regained and a lot more work will be put into who I am and what I truly want to achieve. I wish you all the best on the journey of 2017, let’s embrace this new start with beautiful expectations and a positive mind with wonderful thoughts that lead to a wonderful life. All the best dear, take care.💗
